El tiempo condicional/ The conditional tense

Con frecuencia, el condicional es usado para expresar probabilidad, pregunta o conjetura.  
Frequently, the conditional is used to express probability, possibility, wonder or conjecture.

El estudiante dijo que estudiaría una hora más.(probabilidad o posibilidad)
The student said that he would study one more hour. (probability or possibility)

Para conjugar los verbos regulares en el condicional, añadimos al infinitivo:
To conjugate regular -ar, -er and -ir verbs in the conditional, add to the infintive:

Usos del condicional/Uses of the conditional.

• Para expresar futuro desde la perspectiva del pasado./To express the future from the perspective of the past.

Yo sabía que abrirían la tienda a las siete.
I knew that they would open the store at seven o'clock.

• Para expresar acciones hipotéticas que pueden o no pueden suceder./To express hypothetical actions  which may or may not occur.

Sería interesante estudiar chino.
It would be interesting to study Chinese.

• Para indicar qué sucedería si no fuera por alguna circunstancia específica./To indicate what would happen were it not for some certain specific circumstance.

Yo viajaría pero no tengo dinero.
I would travel but I don't have money.

• Para uso educado./For polite use. 

Por favor, ¿le importaría decirme a qué hora abre la gasolinera?
Please, would you mind telling me what time the gas station opens?

• Para pedir consejo./To ask for advice.

¿Cuál compraría Ud.?
Which one would you buy?

• Para expresar lo que harías en una situación determinada./To express what would be done in a particular situation.

¿Hablarías inglés en España?
Would you speak English in Spain?
No. Hablaría español.
No. I would speak Spanish.

• Para expresar una acción que es contraria a la realidad./To express an action which is contrary to fact.
  
  Oración condicional/Conditional sentence

Si yo fuera rico, me compraría un yate.
If I were rich, I would buy a yatch.
Si yo fuera tú, no me casaría con él.
If I were you, I wouldn’t marry him 
Si yo tuviera tiempo, iría al cine esta noche. 
If I had time, I would go to the movies tonight.
