Al Andalus (RENFE), an unforgettable trip in a "Belle Époque train"(vocabulary)

The Al Andalus takes its passengers on a tour of the southern cities of Spain. They will discover Andalusian culture and the way that the area’s Moorish heritage has influenced it.

An unforgettable trip in a Belle Époque train, it was a period characterized by optimism, peace in Europe, new technology and scientific discoveries. The peace and prosperity, in France, allowed the arts to flourish, and many masterpieces of literature, music, theatre, and visual art gained recognition. It was named, in retrospect, when it began to be considered a "golden age" in contrast to the horrors of World War I (1931).

Al Andalus is a palace on rails. The train was originally used to take the British royal family  on holiday. Its route crossed France, from Calais to the French Riviera with illustrious passengers. That palace of the 1920s is now a first class accommodation, which combines the signs of a prestigious history with the modern comforts of the 21st century. Al Andalus is probably the most spacious and exclusive tourist train in the world. Its four saloons, real railway jewels built between 1928 and 1930.

Al Andalus offers routes with different durations, from a minimum of 3 days up to a maximum of 6. Each trip of Al Andalus combines an exquisite cuisine on board with first class restaurants. The pleasure of the trip is also based on a careful balance between train journey times and suggestive visits and excursions with guides in different languages and private access to the monuments. While the train stays in the station, the traveller may choose to scheduled trips or explore on your own the town in which you are. You could also prefer to enjoy to be on close terms in your room on board or the planned activities.

Immerse yourself in the magic of Seville and the aromas of Jerez, in the heritage of Úbeda and Baeza, impossible landscapes of Ronda, the Nasrid legacy of the Alhambra and the Caliphate splendour of Córdoba. http://www.renfe.com/trenesturisticos/eng/alandalus.html
